So color accuracy isn't that big a deal for me. I'm using it a main business printer and print invoices, reports and labels primarily. But the Brother takes a beating and just keeps going. Colors aren't quite as accurate as some other printers I've used. If I need higher quality I can always do Costco/Walgreens/Kinko's (I think they still exist? maybe w/FedEx?).īrother MFC 9320.
It's versatile, and good enough for what I print. I think I paid $50 or so for the Brother 2-3 years ago, then stocked up on Amazon generic inks for less than $1 a cartridge (it has 4 separate ink tanks.) If it sits for a few months and needs to blow through a half a tank of ink to get cleaned out? No big deal. Unless you're really planning on printing a lot at home, I always recommend getting a cheap device that takes cheap inks.
I've been happy with my Brother MFC-J430W multifunction inkjet. Since decommissioning my photo printer (I now use Costco for proofs and a local “lab”, or Fracture, for archival prints) I’m missing having color for various making projects and am considering switching over to a Brother color laser or multifunction. Cost was $150ish two-three years back.Ĭhecking in from the home studio: for the record mine is a HL-L2360DW. Couldn’t tell you the model off the top of my head but it did offer two-sided printing and AirPrint.
